AIMyVET Project Meeting in Fredrikstad
Project: AIMyVET – 2025-1-NO01-KA220-VET-000356594
Dates: 26th – 27th of November 2026
Location: Fredrikstad, Norway
Introduction
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming colleagues from Madeira and Athens as part of our ongoing Erasmus+ project, AIMyVET. The project focuses on exploring and developing the use of artificial intelligence in education across different countries.
As part of AIMyVET, partners are working on developing MOOCs for teachers to strengthen their competence in using AI in teaching and learning. In addition, the project will result in a handbook and other supporting materials for schools, as well as workshops and collaborative activities throughout its duration.
It has been both inspiring and rewarding to learn how different schools and regions approach AI in education. These exchanges highlight the value of sharing perspectives and experiences and demonstrate how much we can learn from one another.
Arrival and Networking
The AIMyVET project partners began arriving in Fredrikstad on the first day. The evening concluded with a shared dinner, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to reconnect, establish new connections, and set the tone for the collaborative days ahead.
Day 1 – Project Presentations and Collaborative Work
The second day officially launched the working sessions of the meeting.
Participants were welcomed to the host school and given a guided tour, offering insight into the local learning environment. The group then gathered for coffee and traditional Norwegian waffles, creating a warm and informal setting for discussions.
The formal programme began with a presentation of the AIMyVET project. Each partner introduced their organisation and shared how Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems are structured in their respective countries. This exchange provided valuable perspectives and highlighted both similarities and differences across the partnership.
Following lunch, the Norwegian partner presented how artificial intelligence tools are being integrated into their teaching practices at Glemmen Upper Secondary School. The feedback was very positive and underlined the relevance of addressing shared challenges and opportunities together.
Partners then collaborated on Work Package 2 (WP2), focusing on activities A1 and A2. Using a Design Thinking approach, the group engaged in a creative process that provided valuable insights and helped shape a common direction for the project.
After a short break, the group continued working on WP2, concluding a productive day of collaboration.
Day 2 – Continued Collaboration and Cultural Experience
The final day began with a working session focusing on Work Package 3 (WP3), activity A2. Partners continued their collaborative efforts, building on the progress made during the previous day.
After lunch, participants enjoyed a guided tour of the historic Old Town of Fredrikstad. This cultural experience provided a meaningful conclusion to the meeting, combining professional collaboration with local heritage.
The meeting officially concluded in the afternoon.
Looking Ahead
The Fredrikstad meeting marked an important step forward for the AIMyVET project. We are looking forward to the next steps and to continuing this meaningful and collaborative work.
Through knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and cultural exchange, partners strengthened their shared vision for integrating AI into vocational education and training.
